Whiny Post Day
This is Klepsacovic’s baby – Whiny Post Day. As one of the few raiding BM hunters left in the world, apparently, this was a pretty easy choice on which to rant about.
Warlocks and Rogues.
Huh?
That’s right, I want to bitch about Warlocks and Rogues. Why? Because they annoy me. What does that have to do with being a BM hunter? Not a damn thing. In fact, it should probably make me despise them less than I do, at least less than other hunters – Beastial Wrath is awesome – but it doesn’t. I still hate you all. Sorry.
No I’m not. I hate you. DIAF.
You’re kidding, right? You really want to rage on Beastmastery, don’t you?
Look, I could sit here and complain about how Beastmastery is the red-headed stepchild of the Hunter tree, but I’m not in a cutting-edge progression guild so I don’t care. I get to play the way I want- we have fun – we kill bosses – I do a good job. Besides, hunters are getting a complete overhaul in Cataclysm anyway, might as well see what comes from that.
So here goes.
Note to Blizzard (and any other game developer, really): when playing a game, the complete loss of control of one’s character is the single-most infuriating thing in the world. There is nothing remotely fun about watching your character stand (or run around) helpless as he dies. Nothing – do you hear me?
Fear?
Ridiculous.
Five hundred eighty-six ways to stun an opponent?
Absolutely stupid.
If you claim to have rolled a Warlock or Rogue for any reason other than to be able to mock your opponent as they ran away dying from 62 DoTs or laugh as you stun-lock your enemy to death, you’re a big, fat liar.
Either way, you’re a terrible person.
Disclaimer: Of course I don’t really think you’re terrible people. I do, however, think fear/stun mechanics are horribly over-used in MMOs.
And I don’t PvP nearly as much as I used to now that I’m raiding, so take it all with a grain of salt. 😉
What a great post I’m still laughing now…Why?
Well my first main char was a hunter and I love BM and never really got used to MM/Surv (although I did spec MM) but whilst he needs dusting off he is currently specc’d BM
I also have a warlock and the main reason for levelling that was to pvp and to fear haha..Like you say nothing better than seeing your opponent running around aimlessly whilst you dot them up. They come back for more and you fear again…It’s just soooo funny which is why I find this a great post 😉
I have tried a rogue but couldn’t get on with them and apparently they are the way forward…yeah right!
See – I knew you Warlocks did it on purpose! 😀
Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
Well dunno about you warlocks…my main is a mage 😉 but I get where you’re coming from
At least when a mage CC’s me I get turned into a cute little sheep. 😀
As for frost mages, as a hunter I don’t mind being frozen in place, but I could see where that might bother the melee folks.
But everyone hates warlocks and rogues, I think!
haha agreed good post, it made me chuckle.
As an ex Rogue who will be rerolling rogue at Cataclysm I’ll make a bargain with Hunters, I’ll stop stun locking when you stop sending your pets in and running away like big girls. I mean whats that jumping away move called? one minute your there next minute your 20 yards away.
One other thing, why oh why do hunters have mail? They should get relegated to leather.
Glad you enjoyed!
Disengage – and it’s totally awesome. 🙂
I’m not real sure why we have mail, either, to be honest. It does seem like shooting a bow would be slightly challenging wearing chain mail. Maybe Blizzard is afraid we’d be hurting our pets feelings if we wore their pelts? Got me.
Raiding BM hunter here! Well, was. When I was actually playing.
Hey, Pike!
If you’ve made it through any of my more recent blog posts, you’ll see I’m on haitus, myself. Too much real-life in the way, and got pretty burned out on ICC. Looking forward to the Cataclysm changes, but enjoying my free time right now. 🙂
